[. . . ] · Hue: changes the color balance. Notes on playing DVDs with a DTS sound track DTS audio signals are output only through the DIGITAL OUT (COAXIAL or OPTICAL) jack. " · Depending on the disc or the scene being played, the above BNR, Y NR, or C NR effects may be hard to discern. · When playing a disc recorded in SLP recording mode, the BNR setting may have little effect. · When using the DVE function, noise found in the disc may become more apparent. In this case, it is recommended that you use the BNR function with the DVE function. If the condition still does not improve, set the DVE level to "1" or "Off. Note There may be little effect by changing the Audio Filter depending on the disc or playback environment. 59 Chasing Playback/ Simultaneous Rec and Play You can view the beginning of a program while it is being recorded. You can also play a title or previously recorded program while recording. Playing a previous recording while making another (Simultaneous Rec and Play) HDD DVD +RW -RWVR -RWVideo VCD CD DATA CD +R -R HDD TITLE LIST TOOLS M/m, ENTER "Simultaneous Rec and Play" allows you to view a previously recorded program while recording programs. Use this function as follows: · While recording to the HDD: Play another title on the HDD. · While recording to a DVD: Play a previously recorded program on the HDD by pressing HDD. · While recording to a DVD-RW (VR mode)*1: Play another title on the same DVD-RW (VR mode) disc. *2 *1 Simultaneous Rec and Play function does not work when you record: ­ on a 1x-speed DVD-RW. 2 Picture noise may appear depending upon the * condition of the recording, or when playing a title recorded in the HQ or HSP recording mode. Playing from the beginning of the program you are recording (Chasing Playback) HDD -RWVR "Chasing Playback" allows you to view the recorded part of a program while the recording is being made. You do not need to wait until the recording finishes. You can also play a DVD VIDEO, VIDEO CD, Super VCD, CD, or DATA CD while recording on the HDD. 1 2 Press TOOLS while recording. The TOOLS menu appears. Example: Play another title on the HDD while recording to the HDD. Select "Chasing Playback, " and press ENTER. Playback starts from the beginning of the program you are recording. When you fast forward to the point that you are recording, Chasing Playback returns to normal playback. 1 2 3 While recording, press TITLE LIST to display the HDD Title List. Playback starts from the selected title. Notes · For DVD-RWs (VR mode), this function does not work when recording: ­ on a 1x-speed DVD-RW. ­ in the HQ or HSP recording mode. Example: Play a DVD while recording to the HDD. 1 2 While recording, press DVD and insert the DVD into the recorder. The data capacity of a single-layer and singlesided DVD is 4. 7 GB (Giga Byte), which is 7 times that of a CD. The data capacity of a doublelayer and single-sided DVD is 8. 5 GB, a singlelayer and double-sided DVD is 9. 4 GB, and double-layer and double-sided DVD is 17 GB.
