SUR MONITOR (DCR-DVD305/ DVD755)
You can display the direction from which the recording sound comes when recording in 5. 1ch mode.
BRIGHT
Brightens the viewfinder screen.
· When you connect your camcorder to AC Adaptor, [BRIGHT] is automatically selected for the setting. · When you select [BRIGHT], battery life is slightly reduced during recording.

Expands the picture vertically if black bands at the top and bottom in 16:9 (wide) aspect ratio are undesirable.

Displays the date and time of recorded images.

DISPLAY

Change the number of thumbnails (6 or 12) with the zoom lever on your camcorder. *
REMOTE CTRL (Remote control) (DCR-DVD305/DVD755)
The default setting is [ON] so that you can use the supplied Remote Commander (p. 53).
· Set to [OFF] to prevent your camcorder from responding to a command sent by other device's remote control. · The setting returns to [ON] when you set the POWER switch to OFF (CHG) for more than 12 hours.

Displays thumbnails of 6 images.

Displays thumbnails of 12 images.
* You can operate with the zoom buttons on the LCD frame or on the Remote Commander (For DCR-DVD305/DVD755).
BEEP
B ON
A melody sounds when you start/stop recording, or operate the touch panel.
MOVIE PB
Because the default setting is [ON], when you select tab on the VISUAL INDEX screen the first 5 seconds of each movie displayed on the screen are played back in sequence.
· Set to [OFF] to conserve battery power. · Playback for the movie stops after repeating 5 times.
OFF
Cancels the melody.
DISP OUTPUT

Shows displays such as the counter on the LCD screen and in the viewfinder.
Using the Setup items
V-OUT/PANEL
Shows the display also on the TV screen.
REMAINING
B AUTO
Displays the remaining disc indicator for about 8 seconds in situations such as those described below. When your camcorder recognizes the remaining disc capacity with the POWER switch set to (Movie). When you press DISP/BATT INFO to switch the indicator from off to on with the POWER switch to (Movie). When you start recording from the line input (For DCR-DVD305/DVD755).

Scrolls the setup items downwards by touching .

Scrolls the setup items upwards by touching .

Always displays the remaining disc indicator.

The camcorder is automatically turned off when you do not operate your camcorder for more than approximately 5 minutes.

NEVER
The camcorder is not automatically turned off.
· When you connect your camcorder to a wall outlet, [A. SHUT OFF] is automatically set to [NEVER].
AREA SET
You can adjust a time difference without stopping the clock. Refer to the World time difference on page 133.
SUB-T DATE
Set to [ON] (the default setting) to display the recording date and time when you play back a disc on a DVD device with a subtitle display function. Also refer to the instruction manual of your DVD device.
DST SET/SUMMERTIME
You can change this setting without stopping the clock. Set to [ON] to move the time forward one hour.
CALIBRATION
See page 140.
LANGUAGE
You can select the language to be used on the LCD screen. · Your camcorder offers [ENG[SIMP]] (simplified English) for when you cannot find your native tongue among the options.

You can add desired setup items to Personal Menu, and customize Personal Menu settings. This is convenient if you add frequently used setup items to Personal Menu.
