Preparing a Document You can use an original document for copying and scanning on the document glass. Load booklet, pamphlet, or documents having unusual characteristics on the document glass one sheet at a time. On the document glass, you can load the following types of documents: · Thick paper · Document with uneven surface · Photographs · Small documents (e. g. business cards, postcards) · Special types of paper 4. 2 COPYING Making a Copy 1 Lift and open the document cover. 4 2 Place the document face down on the document glass. 3 Align it with the registration guide on the top left corner of the glass. 4 Close the document cover. COPYING 4. 3 NOTES: · Leaving the cover open while copying may affect the copy quality and toner consumption. · If you are copying a page from a book or magazine which is thicker than 30 mm, start copying with the cover open. 5 Customize the copy settings including number of copies, copy size, darkness and original type by using the control panel buttons. To clear the settings, use the Stop/Clear button. 6 Press Start/Enter to begin copying. · Dust on the document glass may cause black spots on the printout. Keep it always clean. 4. 4 COPYING Setting Copy Options The buttons on the control panel let you make all the basic copy options; darkness, number of copies, copy size and document type.
