Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered. While emitting steam, this appliance may cause burns if it is used too close to the skin, scalp or eyes, or if it is used incorrectly. To reduce the risk of contact with hot water emitted from steam vents, test unit before each use by holding it away from body and operating. Before plugging in, read the information about dual voltage contained in the instruction section of this manual. [. . . ] With the unit switched off and unplugged, grip the water reservoir at both sides. Twist the wick holder to the right by 90 degrees and pull away from the reservoir. Fill the unit with water, replace the wick holder and turn 90 degrees to lock again. Snap the reservoir back into place by lining up the tabs on either side of the unit. Release plates by sliding the thumb tab at the front of the plate toward the front of the unit and releasing the plates with your other hand. If you are using the straightening plates, you may wish to use the detangling comb, which helps to guide plates over the surface. The detangling comb cannot be used with the crimping and waving plates. Always heat the unit with the locking switch in the UNLOCKED position. NEVER heat the unit when the locking switch is in the LOCKED position. 8. The steam is continuous so it will come out of the holes as soon as the styler is hot enough. If you run out of water while styling, unplug the straightener and leave it to cool before filling up again. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Locking Switch The locking switch can be used for easy storage and for use when traveling. To close and lock the straightener, squeeze the unit and slide the switch to lock. When traveling overseas, this product can be plugged into any voltage outlet without your having to adjust the product manually in any way. In some overseas countries, an attachment plug adapter of the proper configuration for the power supply receptacle may be required. DO NOT USE a voltage converter or extension cord with this product. How to Use · DO NOT scratch the surface of the plates, as this will deteriorate the effectiveness of the non-stick coating. STRAIGHTENING YOUR HAIR 1. Take one section of hair approximately 2" wide, and smooth it out with a comb. Place hair section between the hot plates and clamp down firmly on the handles. You will achieve professional results if you work from the scalp to the ends of the hair. Hold the unit in position for a few seconds depending on type of hair (5 seconds for fine hair and up to 8 seconds for medium to coarse hair). [. . . ] If the product should become defective within the warranty period, we will repair it or elect to replace it free of charge. We will return your product, transportation charges prepaid, provided it is delivered prepaid to: Remington Products Company, L. L. C. , 60 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06604, Attention: Service Department. Include a letter stating the reason for the return and the original receipt.
