Extract the cartridge slowly INSERTING THE CARTRIDGE INTO THE DLT DRIVE · Before you insert any tape cartridge, you should inspect it to ensure that it is not damaged. · Verify that the system power is turned on and that the drive handle is in the closed position. · Wait until the Operate Handle light (green) is ON steady and the drive beeps (no beep on DLT 8000 drives). · With the label slot facing out, insert the cartridge fully into the drive until a firm stop is encountered. The Tape in Use light (yellow) blinks as the tape loads and stays ON steady when the tape is ready for use. . REMOVING THE CARTRIDGE FROM THE DRIVE · Press the Unload Button (or issue the appropriate system software command). · When the beep sounds (no beep on the DLT 8000 drives) and the Operate Handle light (green) is ON, lift the handle up to the open position to eject the cartridge.
