Software and Files · · · · · · · All software and files necessary for programming the 700t are available from the Lexicon web site: ­ http://www. lexicon. com/downloads/700t_files_downloads. htm Download LexiDraw 3. 51--ld35inst(1). exe Double click on the file and follow the prompts to install LexiDraw Download sample_system. all and place it in the "All" subfolder in the LexiDraw folder (using default installation the location would be Program Files/LexiDraw/All) ­ This . all file can be adapted for your own use, rather than having to make a program from scratch Download Lexicon's. bml and place it in the "Bitmaps" subfolder Download Lexicon's. cbl and place it in the "Custom" subfolder Download master. cml and place it in the "Commands" subfolder LexiDraw Cable and Communications · A LexiDraw cable is included with every 700t · Connect the LexiDraw cable to a serial port on your PC and the RJ-11 port on the 700t 700t Special Functions Page · The Special Functions page can be accessed two ways ­ Ensure 700t back panel switch is off, press and hold your finger on the screen, and switch unit back on ­ Assign a button to this page, allowing it to be accessed just like any other page · Includes backlight, beeper, contrast and program controls ­ Program menu includes IR capture, clear all, computer link, access options, timer settings LexiDraw Main Menu page is created automatically · Additional pages may be added at any time using the New Page command (Page/New Page) · Navigate from page to page using the menu on the left (the tack icon keeps the menu pulled down at all times) · Page Wizard (Page/Page Wizard) creates a new page of a standard type complete with buttons Placing Buttons Draw buttons by selecting a button shape from the left side of the Tools palette ­ After selecting, click once to make a small button of selected type ­ Click and drag to make a larger button · Place custom buttons and bitmaps using the "Place Custom Button" and "Place Bitmap" tools on the Tools palette · Right clicking a button allows for several options ­ Edit properties ­ Create macro ­ Delete command ­ Copy, cut, or delete button ­ Assign page to button · Assigning Pages · Assigning a page to a button causes the 700t to go to that page when the button is pressed. · 3 Methods to assign a page to a button ­ Right click on button, select "assign page to button" and click on page to assign ­ On the Tools pulldown menu, select "assign page" and drag page from right side to the button to be assigned to ­ Click "assign pages" tool on the Tools palette, click on button to be assigned, then click the page to be assigned to that button · In addition to regular pages, there are selections for "none, " "previous, " and "special functions" Commands · · · · · · Open the command library by selecting "Command Library" using either the Tools palette or the Tools pulldown menu If no commands are visible, click "Open Library" at the bottom of the Command Library box and open master. cml Select the manufacturer, type, and model of a component Click and drag a command from the list to the button you want to have that command Repeat for each button If the commands for the component are not in the library, you will need to capture the codes IR Capture · · · · · · · · · · · · · To capture codes, you will need a 700t, a PC, a LexiDraw cable, the "donor" remote, and fresh batteries On the 700t, enter the Special Functions menu, select "Program, " and then "IR Capture" Ensure that the remotes are aligned properly and that the 700t is receiving a signal when buttons are pressed on the donor remote Switch the 700t to "Capture" In LexiDraw, open the IR Library Manager (available under Library) In IR Library Manager, open master. cml In the Edit View window select "New" (NOT under File--that would create a new . cml file) Select the manufacturer, type, and enter the model of component for the remote to be learned Click "Wizard" and check buttons to keep, uncheck buttons not needed Click "OK" and manually add any buttons that were not in the wizard Click "OK" and then "Learn IR" Follow the prompts on the screen (Press and hold the "XXXX" key) A progress indicator will appear momentarily, then the IR Library software will go to the next command to be learned Repeat the process until all codes for the donor remote are learned and repeat for other remotes not in library · Close IR library manager--library is saved automatically · Codes from the donor remote are now available in master. cml · Creating Macros · · · · · Click "Edit Macro" on the Tools palette and then click the button you want to create a macro for There are 7 basic command types--infrared from library, infrared from page, time delay, TCM-3 relay control, TCM-3 power sync input, button hold test, and button pause To add a command, click and drag the command (or icon at the bottom) to the left side and drop it in the sequence where you want it To get rid of a command already placed in the macro sequence, click and drag the command to the trash can To change the sequence of commands, click and drag a command to a different place Creating Macros IR Commands and Time Delay · The "Infrared from library" command type allows you to select any IR command that is in the currently selected library for inclusion in the macro · The "Infrared from page" command type allows you to select any IR command on any page in the current . all file · The "Time delay" command type allows you to insert a pause in the macro sequence to allow a component time to process a command ­ Set the length of delay ­ Click and drag the clock icon over to the macro sequence Creating Macros TCM-3 Commands · When using a TCM-3 in conjunction with a 700t, relay control and power sync command types can be used · The "Relay Control" command type allows you to turn off or turn on any of the three relays on the TCM-3. · The "Power Sync" command type allows an if-then statement based on the power status of either of the power sync inputs on the TCM-3 to be included in the sequence ­ Useful to avoid turning off components that are already on if the component does not have separate on and off commands Creating Macros Button Hold and Button Pause · The "Button Hold" command type allows an if-then statement based on the status of whether the button is held down or not ­ Example--if button is held then complete the following sequence of commands · The "Button Pause" command type tells the macro to pause at that point until the button is released · When finished adding steps to the macro, click "OK" Sending Your Program to the 700t Always save your program before sending it to the 700t or TCM-3 Under Edit/Edit Remote Properties, ensure that the program is set up for your configuration ­ Set default output to "IR" and Output Format to "Stand Alone" if using a 700t without a TCM-3 (set to "RF" if using a TCM-3) · Connect the LexiDraw cable and put the 700t in Computer Link mode (Special Functions/Program) · In LexiDraw, select "Send All Pages" under Communication ­ Click on the 700t icon to send ­ Try lowering Max Com Speed (under Options/Set Com Port) if error occurs · · Sending Your Program to the TCM-3 If using a TCM-3, the same program must be sent to both the 700t and the TCM-3 In LexiDraw, under Edit/Edit Remote Properties, ensure that the program is set up for your configuration ­ Set default output to RF if using a 700t RF with a TCM-3 · Connect the LexiDraw cable to the TCM-3 and plug in the TCM-3 · In LexiDraw, select "Send All Pages" under Communication ­ Click on the TCM-3 icon to send ­ Try lowering "Max Com Speed" if error occurs · · This is not meant to be the definitive guide to programming
