[. . . ] Gently pull the tray out until the CD can easily be removed from the tray. Place the CD into the tray, label side up, with the hole in the center of the CD. (Figure 4-7) 45 LifeBook S Series ­ Section Four EMERGENCY CD TRAY RELEASE If for some reason the eject button fails or you have no power, you can open the CD-ROM tray with a paper clip or similar tool inserted into the eject hole in the far right side of the front of the tray. (Figure 4-8) Disabling Auto Insert Notification Function To disable the Auto Insert Notification function, follow these easy steps: 1. Select the Device Manager tab to display the device lists for your LifeBook. The treeview will expand to show the CD-ROM drive manufacturer's name and model number. Double-click on the CD-ROM drive manufacturer's name and model number. This will open the CD-ROM drive manufacturer's name and model number dialog box. Select the Settings tab and then remove the check mark in the Auto Insert Notification box to turn it off. Click Close in the System Properties dialog box, then click Yes in the System Settings Change pop-up window when it asks you to restart your machine and activate this change. The Auto Insert Notification function can be re-activated by repeating this process and placing a check mark in the Auto Insert Notification box to turn it back on. Figure 4-8 Emergency CD Tray Release AUTO INSERT NOTIFICATION FUNCTION (with Windows 98 Second Edition pre-installed models only) The Auto Insert Notification Function allows your LifeBook to automatically start a CD as soon as it is inserted in the CD-ROM drive and the tray is closed. Installing the DVD Player Software To install the DVD Player software follow these steps: 1. Make sure you either close or disable any open programs, applications and utilities. This includes the MS Office Toolbar, any anti-virus programs and screensavers. From the Start menu, select Run, type D:\WINDVD\Setup. exe and click OK. Go through the installation process by following the directions on screen. Once the installation is complete, you will be asked to restart your LifeBook. To use the DVD Player software, click Start, Programs, and then InterVideo WINDVD. Un-installing the DVD Player Software The DVD Player software should be removed if you wish to use a 3rd party DVD player instead of the Fujitsu DVD Player.
