[. . . ] At about 12 months of age, baby starts discovering the meaning of words and begins to associate words with everyday life objects and situations. Starting with individual words, the child gradually learns to build more and more complex sentences, until it masters a real conversation. Talking Farm, with its delightful little bear and many amusing animals, melodies and sound effects stimulates your child's imagination. The child is encouraged to test its linguistic and mnemonic skills, associating the words with the keys decorated with numbers and farmyard characters. [. . . ] The game offers the child an opportunity to check whether its answers are correct, thus making baby more self-confident, as it progresses. Playing with Talking Farm, the child gradually discovers the existence of a second language, after it has become familiar with words and activities in its own mother tongue. This informal and playful approach may favour the early learning of a second language. An early approach allows the child to develop linguistic skills that will help it learn more quickly a new language at school. Initially the child uses words from its bilingual vocabulary indistinctly, calling an object in either language. Later on it will learn to distinguish between the two languages according to the context. HOW TO USE THE TOY To activate the toy, just move the switch (A) from the OFF position to the <)) / <))) position, according to the desired volume level. Every time this key is pressed, a different game level mode is activated, which is introduced by a delightful comment spoken by the little bear, a fun melody and by the flashing of the corresponding luminous indicator (D). The 4 playing modes are: Mode 1: press the keys with the animals and the numbers: by associating the figures with the words, the child learns to recognise them (for example: when the key with the duck is pressed, the little bear Says "The yellow duck") Mode 2: listen to the animal's voice and press the key with the matching animal figure Mode 3: listen to a question and press the key with the right answer Mode 4: listen to a question and press the corresponding keys; if the first answer is right, the same question is repeated with the addition of a new element (the name of an animal or a number), up to a maximum string of 5 elements that the child must remember in the same order as they are introduced by the talking bear. In the modes 2, 3 and 4, every time the child gives a correct answer, the little bear congratulates it and formulates a new question to which the child must reply.
