Brake Energy Regeneration To supply a battery with electrical energy, the generator (alternator) is permanently driven using engine power, which demands additional fuel consumption. Brake Energy Regeneration means the generator usually only generates electricity when the driver either takes the foot off the accelerator or brakes ­ previously unused kinetic energy is transformed in coasting mode into electrical energy before being fed into the battery. In this way, electricity is generated while coasting, without consuming fuel. BMW already offers 23 models with CO2 emissions of 140 g/km and significantly less. The vertical rear window can be retracted independently of the soft top. When the roof is closed and the rear window is lowered, the interior is effectively ventilated for a pleasant climate. When the roof is open, the raised rear window improves the comfort of rear seat passengers. o Wind deflector makes open-top driving more pleasurable by reducing irritating drafts and annoying isolated turbulence in the shoulder and neck region.
