Installing the G300 with an external antenna: - fix the external antenna on the roof of your vehicle and make sure to place the cable inside the cabin of the vehicle. - connect the antenna to the external antenna connector of the G300. Installing the G300 For bikers 1 4 Connect a headphone (mini-jack) to the G300. 2 Put the unit into a pocket of your jacket or your biker's suit and place the headphone over your head. 3 If your bike is equipped with a small case, you can place the G300 in it. We recommend that you use the ALERTEGPS biker kit (earphone + arm wallet). Check that the headphone cable is long enough in order to let you drive in optimal position. Please note That the G300 is not waterproof: You must protect the unit by placing it in your pocket or in an ALERTEGPS arm wallet. Important Don't leave the unit on your bike: take the unit with you when you leave your bike. When you start the G300, a short animation will be displayed. Operating Instructions STARTING THE G300 The G300 will start automatically after you have connected it to the cigar lighter, and a short animation will be displayed. [. . . ] The diodes are a visual warning system that is very useful when driving at night. 6 TIP : when driving at night, put the volume of the G300 at the lowest level. As you approach a control zone, the diodes will light blue if your speed doesn't exceed the speed limit. As you approach a control zone, the diodes will light red if your speed exceeds the speed limit. BLUE DIODES RED DIODES If the speed of your vehicle is more than 10mph under the speed limit, no vocal message will be heard. Example 1 : Your speed = 55mph Speed limit = 60mph Blue diodes + Vocal message Warning!Gatso speed camera, maximum speed is 60mph. Example 2 : Your speed = 45mph Speed limit = 60mph Blue diodes Exemple : . . . Your speed = 65mph Speed limit = 60mph Blue diodes + Vocal message Warning!Gatso speed camera, maximum speed is 60mph. If you accelerate in the control zone and if you reach a speed that is less than 10mph under the speed limit, the vocal message will start. If you deccelerate in the control zone and you reach a speed that is more than 10mph over the speed limit, the diodes will light blue. ECO MODE The G300 features an advanced power management mode, called "Eco Mode": In Eco Mode, the energy consumption is lower and the battery will last longer. In Eco Mode, the G300 warns you as you approach a control zone, visually and acoustically, and will switch to stand-by mode when there's no alert on the road. When there's no alert, a dot is displayed on the screen: indicating that the power is on. As you approach a control zone, the usual information is displayed on the screen. To turn the Eco Mode on, place the mode selector on "Eco" .
