To remove the protective cap lift the tension spring slightly with aid of a screwdriver and completely turn it. Always disconnect the plug from the socket before carrying out any work on the machine. When grinding do not apply pressure on the tool but use it with gentle reciprocating movements. For best results when roughing-down keep the disk at an angle of at least 30° to the working surface. Overloading the machine when grinding will damage the angle grinder and results in faster wearing out of the disks. When surface grinding use a plastic backing pad with an abrasive disk. For removing rust or old coats of paint it is recommended to use a steel brush (saucepan brush).
